2016 International
Chinese Dance Competition

by Nan Hai Culture and media (Australia) Pty Ltd, The Sydney quarter-final round of
the 2016 International Chinese Dance Competition was take place on 18 September 2016 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Theatre.
Being a world-wide competition of traditional Chinese
dance, competitions took place internationally to select winners who will become representatives from
each participating country. These representatives will be given the opportunity
to travel to China for the grand final.
Quarter-final A Quarter-final B Grand final
Judges were asked to evaluate the dance techniques,
skills and talents of the dancers, along with their choreography.Our five
judges for the Sydney quarter-final round of the Competition were：
Virginia
Ferris is the Performance Director for Sydney Chinese New Year Lunar
Festival for 2017 (City of Sydney Council). She is a successful artistic
director, choreographer, event manger, specialised tutor and adjudicator and
has created hundreds of events and shows in Australia and internationally.
Trent Kidd is a dance
captain and choreographer for the Chinese Lunar Festival since 2011. Trent is a
teacher at Tap and Theatre Jazz at the Sydney Dance Company; Trent’s most recent work as the Assistant/Resident Director is on
the Australian premier production of “Heathers
the Musical” at the Sydney Opera House.
Christine
Gillett is the dance captain and assistant to choreographer of the Sydney
Chinese Lunar Festival. She is an independent choreographer, dance adjudicator
and has over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry.
Lucy Lu is the examiner of the Royal
Academy of Dance in the United Kingdom. She received the Royal Academy of Dance
RTS Distinction. She was the Royal Academy of Dance tutor for the Certificate
in Ballet Teaching studies.
