2014
Sydney International Campus Arts Festival
Jointly
hosted by the ACPAA, Presenter by Huaxing Arts Group and the China Council for the Promotion
of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the 2016 Sydney International Campus Arts
Festival was held at the Concourse Theatre on the 16th of August
2014 to great success.
The
Campus Arts Festival is an annual event that aims to promote multiculturalism
through the performing of traditional dances. The night was filled with
performances by arts groups from different ethic backgrounds, including Chinese,
Irish, Spanish and Korean. These performances were also accompanied by modern
dances such as ballet and contemporary repertoires.
Stars
of the evening included dancers from the Sydney Jing Dance School, Lucy Dance
School, Pymble Ladies College, Southern Star Dance School, Korean Dance Group,
Jiangmen Children’s Ballet, Scoil Rince Creer Irish, Shanshan Dance School,
Aziguili Dance School and Daiailian Culture Art Center. With such an abundance
of dance schools representing many nationalities, there was certainly no
shortage of talent. The Festival brought together enthusiastic and talented
young artists from many different regions in China and Australia alike, symbolizing
the ever-strengthening Sino-Australian relationship. With
skills and techniques passed down through generations, the evening was a blast
to say the least. The sound of enthusiastic applause only solidified the
evening’s tremendous success.
